Biography
Ms. Alvey, a proud Hoosier born and raised in Indiana, began her journey on the basketball court during her college days, where she not only played but also discovered a passion for coaching, contributing to a national championship-winning program. Before transitioning to law, she devoted herself to teaching Special Education, reinforcing her belief in the importance of children as the foundation of the future. With a background in teaching, she brings a unique perspective to legal matters, making them approachable and understandable, particularly for those feeling overwhelmed or intimidated.
After obtaining her Juris Doctorate from Ave Maria School of Law in Florida in 2012, Ms. Alvey worked with juvenile offenders at a non-profit agency before relocating to Newport News in 2014. There, she served as a Special Education teacher for three years before gaining admission to the Virginia State Bar. She briefly practiced law with Mulkey, Forbes, Reid & Barton in Newport News before returning to teaching to raise her family. In 2020, she ventured into solo practice, focusing on Estate Planning while continuing to teach.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Alvey finds joy in planning magical Disney trips for her loved ones and challenging herself with marathon training. However, her greatest pleasure comes from spending quality time with her family. As a compassionate advocate with the heart of a teacher, Ms. Alvey is committed to simplifying the estate planning process, empowering individuals to secure their family’s future with confidence and peace of mind. She aims to create a lasting legacy and invites individuals to reach out to embark on a journey toward protecting their loved ones.
